EGST Contributed to School Expansion, GRD

The Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology on July 11, 2017, contributed seventy thousand birr to Tesfa Elementary School Montessori and Dining building project. EGST has earlier contributed 100,000 birr for the Great Renaissance Dam (GRD).

In a stakeholders meeting in relation to resource mobilization event, Mr. Addise Amado, EGST Head of Development and Communications, outlined the role of EGST in community services specifically in district 4 of Nifas Silk Lafto Sub City. “EGST has sponsored cobble road pavement, supported vulnerable children, reinforced city beautification initiatives, contributed to district library development and sports activities, implemented maternal and child health services and other engagements” he elaborated on the event. EGST Head of Administration and Finance, Mr. Mesfin Tesfaye recalled that EGST has recently donated 100,000 birr to the Great Renaissance Dam and continues collaborating with local government and communities as part of its mission in serving society.

 

After receiving the contribution, District 4 officials and staff extended their gratitude to EGST for the partnership and community support. Mr. Temane, Chairperson of Parents-Students-Teachers Committee, said that EGST is an exceptional institution in supporting district 4 development activities.  Mr. Tinsaeheywet Kiflu, Head of District 4 Education Department, remarked that EGST remains one of the reliable partners in community services in district 4 and the current donation addresses the problems of children challenged due to lack of Montessori and dining facilities.

EGST Students’ Council, Chaplain’s Office, Development and Communications Department and Administration and Finance Department coordinated the fundraising efforts for EGST Community Action Project. EGST also raised funds and resources for Juvenile Delinquency Rehabilitation Centre in Lideta Sub City, Koshe dump slide victims, and other community services.
