2017 Annual staff and faculty retreat completed

The 2017 EGST staff and faculty retreat was completed in Hawassa on June 1- 4, 2017 at Haile Resort Hawassa.

The event included excursion at Africa Vacation Club in Langano, Wondo Guent Hot Springs, and a mountain hiking and prayer session at Tabore Mountains and related activities.

This year’s devotion theme, by Dr Lidetu Alemu, focused on uniting organisational energy and   strength through peer support mechanisms and valuation of each member’s contributions

 

During the closing, EGST Director, Dr Misgana Mathewos remarked that retreat is an important part of EGST’s organizational life for fellowship and motivation. “We recognize staff members as VIP for the daily operations and success of EGST. My daily interaction in the morning begins with security staff, cleaning and maintenance staff, administration and support staff, development and communication team, faculty – and all are vital for the institutional success” he remarked and thanked the organizers and participants for their continuous hard work.
The four day annual event is a staff motivation scheme expressed in the strategic plan as ‘staff care and wellbeing’ activity. EGST currently has 47 (21 female and 26 male) employees comprising of faculty and staff. Thirty five employees attended year’s annual retreat.
