EGST Stakeholders’ Fellowship Day Marked

EGST Council of Owners, Board, Staff and related stakeholders marked a half day annual fellowship on February 24, 2018.

As Dr. Misgana, EGST Director, pointed out in his welcome speech, the fellowship day is an annual event which takes place once in a year. He remarked that it is an important occasion which brings different members of the EGST stakeholders who serve at various responsibilities for fellowship and to be reminded of EGST’s mission and celebrate its core values of cooperation and unity in diversity.

Rev. Markos Hadero, former Board member, in his  sermon on Psalm 133 and 1 John 1:1-4 emphasized on the benefits of unity, individual responsibilities in unity, the obstacles of unity and elements of a healthy fellowship.

Rev. Dr. Wakseyoum Idosa, the former Chairperson of the Council of Owners, recalled the journey EGST has come thus far from a humble beginning into what it is now by God’s help. In his testimony, he encouraged the current Council and Board members and the EGST administration to depend on God’s faithfulness. Based on Ephesians 4:1, he spoke on the importance of living a life worthy of our mission. He further noted that theological relevance is very important and EGST is responsible for equipping leaders and ministers for the church to overcome the multifaceted challenges it is currently facing.

The representatives of the three EGST Owners, Dr. Eyasu Elias from EKHC, Rev. Yonas Yigezu from EECMY and Pastor Tsadiku Abdo from ECFE, on their brief messages to EGST, said that the church today is facing complicated challenges both internally and externally. They all indicated that EGST plays an important role in producing Christ-like women and men who are passionate, academically equipped and spiritually transformed to enable the church overcome these challenges.  They furthermore admonished EGST to conduct practically relevant researches on current issues which empower.

Former Council and Board members were presented with certificates of recognition for their outstanding leadership contributions to EGST in the past. The event was concluded by a Holy Communion and lunch.
