Dr. Rich Hansen and Dr. Finn Aasebø Rønne return to EGST for January Interterm

Dr. Rich Hansen returned to EGST this January Interterm, having previously served as Lecturer in Systematic Theology on the faculty from 2010-2014.  During his four years at EGST, he also served as Dean of Studies and watched the new EGST building rise from foundation to completion.

Dr. Rich taught the MABTS course Pastoral Theology and Leadership” during the January Interterm to nine students pictured below.  “This class was a joy for me in many ways,” Dr.  Rich commented, “not only in personally getting to know these faithful church leaders but also in our many lively discussions about understanding the biblical pastoral calling in the Ethiopian context.”

In the same news, Dr. Finn Aasebø Rønne gave a course on Historiography and Methods in Interpreting Church History, Which focused on the hermeneutic and basic methodology in the academic study of church history and train student to use historical methods and source criticism. The course also included the historiography considerations related to church history, particularly when writing the history of our own church tradition.

I enjoyed this Interterm as usual” Dr. Finn remarked, “I can see how the students are comprehending the methods discussed in the class, particularly when they put the theories into practice. It interests me very much to know that all the methods discussed in the classroom will be very much relevant for the church today.”
