Tekalign Nega Angore is the eldest son from a family of four children, born of an agnostic dad and a committed evangelical mom. His faith journey led him to enjoy conversation with other faiths. He actively engages in writing, training, and preaching ministry. His diverse trainings include Accounting and Finance, Counseling Psychology, Christian Theology and Islam. In his research, he is fascinated by group identity and how one’s conception of self and the other shapes communal interactions. Particularly, collective memory is his research interest, focusing on how the reconstructed image of the past inextricably intertwines with present concerns and the envisioned future.

Recently, his primary research interests are about issues related contemporary Islam in Ethiopia. In his research he explores the attitude of various Christian traditions towards new developments and trends among Ethiopian Muslim communities. He also studies the impact of contemporary Islamic activists, their collective memories for inter-religious dialogue, and Ethiopian state policy towards Islam.
