On the opening of the new semester which runs from August to December, Acting Chaplain Dr. Bekele Deboch encouraged students by the word of God from the Gospel of Luke and stressed the need to know the truth and that Theology helps us to find and defend truth as faithful servants of the Lord.
EGST students led the audience in worship and the sharing of the word of God followed by Dr. Tesfaye Yacob from 1 Timothy 2:1-8. The speaker stressed the need of prayer for leaders and that is our Christian responsibility as “New Testament Community”. He highlighted that as EGST students, we are part of the mission of the church and that we are living testimonies of the redemptive act of God. He challenged all that our Christian call is clear and we ought to live by the high standard of God’s character.
Large number of newly admitted students, faculty and staff attended the opening.
Rev. Solomon Habte from Mekanissa Mekane Yesus Congregation conducted the Holy Communion service.
