On October 5, 2017 EGST Community Action Project (CAP) delivered 132 pairs of Slipper shoes with total price of 4000.00 to the Juvenile Delinquency Rehabilitation Center at Lideta Sub City, Addis Ababa. The center administrator Ato Andualem has received the donation and appreciated EGST Community for the gift. He further invited volunteers to visit the teenagers in the rehabilitation center as they are very happy when visitors come to see them. According to Ato Andualem, the rehabilitation center is always open for visitors and volunteers to play with the teenagers, to give them training and teaching in personal development and character formation.
The EGST Community Action Project (CAP) is working within the school community by collecting funds from students, staff, faculty and friends. “Such gifts is helping us to meet the necessities of different needy people in the community surrounding EGST and beyond” Ruth Mekuria, EGST Projects Administrative Assistant remarked.
Since 2015 EGST CAP project is supporting Juvenile Delinquency Rehabilitation Center with different resources, such as Slipper shoes, different indoor games and books. The project is also mobilizing resources to support the construction of a dining hall and sleeping place for Tesfa Elementary School, collected materials in kind to help people living with HIV AIDS, and engaged in paper waste recycling project with Penda PLC, a local firm that converts used paper into recycled paper products.
