EGST Distributed Educational and Hygiene Materials

EGST distributed educational materials worth 50,000 ETB to Nifas Silk Lafto Sub City, District 04 Women and Children Affairs and Education Offices.

Delivering the educational materials on Tuesday October 27, 2020, Ato Addise Amado, EGST Head of Development and Communications said that “higher educational institutions in the 21st century have bigger responsibilities to communities than just imparting academic knowledge and research to students.” He further noted that each needy child deserves quality education and EGST supports such efforts run by schools, government and communities.

Dr.  Lidetu Alemu, EGST Head of Students’ Affairs on his part noted that investing on students is an opportunity to be taken gladly.

After receiving the gifts on behave of the beneficiary children, Nifas Silk Lafto Sub City Education and Women and Children Affairs Officials appreciated EGST’s ongoing community services at district 4. Ato Adefirs Kora, Head of the Education Office of the sub city remarked that the educational materials will be of great importance to achieve learning outcomes at Tesfa Elementary School. Head of Nifas Silk Lafto Sub City Women and Children Affairs, W/ro Bizuayehu Mekonnen in her part extended gratitude to EGST for the long-standing support provided to women and children in the sub city.

The educational materials include 90 dozen of exercise books, 21 packs of pen, 300 pencils, 21 lunch boxes,30 bags,30 dozens of soaps and 300 pack of sanitary pads to be distributed to the children. It was learned that the support will be distributed to most needy, disadvantaged and orphan children  in the area.

Government officials, teachers, administrative staff and media attended the event.

It was further recalled that EGST has supported the expansion of dinning rooms of Tesfa Elementary School, provided food support to people affected by COVID-19, contributed to Community Peace building activities and related services recently.
