EGST Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop Equipping Partners for Creating A Safe and Loving Environment for Families’ Well-being

Celebrating families training of trainers’ workshop was conducted at EGST on January 23-26/2023. The participants were invited from 10 denominations in Addis Ababa and Evangelical Churches of Fellowship Ethiopia. There were a total of 28 participants who completed the four days training. The goal of the training is to support the equipping of families so that they may create a safe and loving environment for their children’s well-being and nurture.

A welcoming and opening keynote was given by Ato Addise Amado, EGST Head of Development and Communication Department. In his message, Ato Addise emphasized the foundation of a family is formed by God, and it is one of the primary institutions where other institutions emanates from. He concluded his message by notifying the participants to take the training seriously and multiply it for others in their denominations and local churches.

The training was very participatory in its design and the participants were fully engaged through out the process. Four training facilitators were involved in delivering the training.

By the end of the training, the participants were able to gain a deeper appreciation of the role of families in the pursuit of children’s spiritual nurture and well-being, broaden perspectives and understanding of the realities and contexts of families, understand the framework, processes and tools that can support families as they journey together towards wholeness. By the end of the training, the participants took time to make action plans to design practical ways of implementing the training in their respective denominations and local churches.
