EGST Awarded Degrees and Academic Prizes

The Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology (EGST) awarded degrees for 46 graduates on Saturday July 27, 2019 at EGST Assembly Hall. The 46 Graduates (28 males, 18 female) are composed of four programmes specifically 20 in Biblical and Theological Studies, 7 in Leadership and Management, 14 in Development Studies and 5 in Post Graduate Diploma in Biblical and Theological Studies.

On its 19th graduation ceremony, EGST also presented academic and highest institutional awards to best achieving graduates from four programmes. The best achievers of the 2019 include Abebaye Bitew  Mitiku from PGD in Biblical and Theological Studies, Aelaf Gebreamlak Kore from Master of Arts in Development Studies, Okello Oluch Wudo in Leadership and Management, and Yoseph Haddis Mengistufrom Biblical and Theological Studies. There were no graduates from the Master of Theology this year.

The graduation ceremony colorfully included prayers, welcome note by the EGST Board Chair person Rev. Dr. Wakseyoum Idosa, songs by Zema for Christ Choir, address by EGST Director, Rev. Dr. Misgana Mathewos, sermon by Dr. Simon Mulatu member of EGST Council of Owners and General Secretary.

After graduate’s testimony and students’ representative farewell speech, EGST Chairperson of the Council of Owners gave charge to the graduates as part of institutional commitment. In his charge to the graduates, he reminded the graduates to think of the words of Jesus from Luke 12:48 that says, “From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
