EGST Community Services Action Project (CAP)

As part of community services action project, EGST’s family with volunteer students and guests paid a visit to the Juvenile Delinquency Rehabilitation center on the 20th of September located in Lideta sub-city.  Its primary focus was to celebrate the Ethiopian New year with the teens, share the Love of Christ with them and encourage students who ranked from 1-3rd in their classes.  A volunteer student of EGST shared the story of Joseph from the Bible and encouraged them to pursue their dreams and visions in life regardless of oppositions and hatred from any direction. There were games and songs which were encouraging and touching the hearts of the teenagers. There were emotional moments during the time of the singing and they also enjoyed the games, the conversations, the bread, the drinks and the love gifts of slippers, books, dictionaries and pads for girls.

EGST was introduced to the rehabilitation center because of a graduate of 2015, Yenigat Abera who conducted her field of Practicum in Juvenile Delinquency Rehabilitation Center and reported the desperate need of the teenagers in the organization. Subsequent to this, the center requested EGST for social and spiritual support which was discussed with EGST Director who referred the case to the Chaplin Office and then decided to be of support to the center afterwards.
