1. Background

EGST was jointly founded in 1997 by the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC), the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), and the Evangelical Churches Fellowship of Ethiopia (ECFE). EGST is a Christian institution registered in Ethiopia by the Ministry of Federal Affairs to equip Christ-like women and men through theological and related studies and to stimulate research for the service of the Church and society in Ethiopia and beyond.

The Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology (EGST) implements a Community Engagement Programme through the Mentor Mother Project on MNCH, the Training and Capacity Building Project (TCBP), and the Church Leaders Training Project (CLTP). The Mentor Mother Model strengthens maternal and child health by empowering local women and improving access to preventive and antenatal care. TCBP promotes peace and community development through collaboration with church leaders and stakeholders, while CLTP equips faith leaders in family strengthening, gender restoration, and holistic youth development.

Over the years, these initiatives have produced significant results through partnerships with churches, government institutions, development partners, community structures, and academic institutions. A significant number of church leaders, health workers, Mentor Mothers, Health Extension Workers, Women's Health Development Army members, students, and community volunteers have benefited from EGST's capacity development programmes.

To document these achievements, communicate programme impact, preserve institutional learning, and support resource mobilization, EGST intends to produce a high-quality Success Stories Booklet and Documentary Video.

EGST therefore invites skilled and qualified service providers with expertise in documentary video production and booklet development to capture and document compelling evidence of the programme’s achievements, outcomes, and impact.

2. Purpose and scope of the task

2.1. Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to document the outcomes, impact, lessons learned, and stories of transformation generated by EGST's Community Engagement Programme through professionally produced booklet and documentary video products. The service provider will generate evidence-based success stories that demonstrate programme achievements and support institutional learning, donor reporting, advocacy, fundraising, and public engagement.

3. Specific objectives

The objective of this assignment is to document and communicate the impact, outcomes, and lessons learned from EGST's Community Engagement Programme. The Service Provider shall capture compelling stories of change, evidence of programme achievements, and the experiences of beneficiaries and partners to produce advocacy, resource mobilization, knowledge management, and institutional learning materials through well-documented narratives and testimonies. Specifically, the Service Provider shall document significant programme achievements and outcomes, capture compelling stories of change from beneficiaries and stakeholders, produce a professionally designed Success Stories Booklet and a high-quality documentary video, and document key lessons learned, innovations, and best practices arising from the programme.

3.1. Scope of the Assignment

• Collect compelling stories and testimonies from beneficiaries and stakeholders across selected implementation areas: Holeta, Sendafa, Bahir Dar, Asella, Weliso, Butajira, and Hossana.
• Document experiences and evidence of change from individuals, households, communities, institutions, and churches involved in EGST’s Community Engagement Programme, including the Mentor Mother Project, CLTP, and Peace Actors Development Project.
• Gather testimonies from Mentor Mothers, beneficiary families, Health Extension Workers, Women’s Health Development Army members, health professionals, local health offices, and partner organizations (DAASC).
• Produce the Success Stories Booklet and Documentary Video in professional British English according to the standards outlined in this ToR.

4. Field work

4.1. Interview

The service provider shall conduct field visits to selected project implementation sites and conduct interviews with project beneficiaries, church leaders, Mentor Mothers, Health Extension Workers, Women's Health Development Army members, healthcare professionals, government officials, community leaders, EGST staff, and other development partners.

4.2. Story Development

Identify and develop compelling stories that demonstrate measurable impact, personal transformation, community transformation, institutional change, lessons learned, innovation, and sustainability.

7. Required Qualifications

The Service Provider shall demonstrate:

• At least ten (10) years of professional experience in documentary production and publication development;
• Proven experience producing success story booklets for NGOs, universities, or related organizations;
• Demonstrated expertise in interviewing, storytelling, scriptwriting, photography, cinematography, editing, and graphic design;
• A strong understanding of development communication and results-based storytelling;
• Excellent English writing and editing skills;
• Experience working with faith-based organizations will be considered an added advantage.

The assignment shall be completed within 45–60 calendar days from the date of signing the contract.
